 El hombre de las noticias, Ron Burgundy, vuelve a la carga en esta nueva entrega. Vuelven además su compañera de Ron y su mujer, Veronica Cornmingstone, el hombre del tiempo, Brick Tamland, el corresponsal Brian Fantana y el de los deportes Champ Kind. El grupo pasará de trabajar en San Diego a Nueva York en GNN, un canal de noticias 24 horas donde tendrán que enfrentarse a otra manera de hacer noticias.
